Based on the popular young adult novel, Something Like Summer is the story of Ben Bentley, the only guy at his Texas high school with the courage to come out of the closet. Putting up with the bullies and his classmates’ whispered condemnations keeps him from pursuing his dream of being a singer. Then he meets Tim Wyman, an athlete with secrets of his own, including his talent as an artist. Something Like Summer follows the course of true love over the span of a dozen years, from awkward adolescence through challenging adulthood and heartbreaking tragedy, featuring seven classic and original musical numbers and the work of a fresh young artist.
